Helen is Charlie's aunt and an unseen character in "The Perks of Being a Wallflower".
Aunt Helen suffered from depression because she was abused while she was young by a friend of the family, and her boyfriends.
Because of this, she suffered from psychological problems which lead to her gravitating to the closest source of masculine comfort: Charlie. She sexually abused him.
Aunt Helen was sexually abused by a friend of the family whilst she was young. When she told her parents, they didn't believe her and continued to invite the man to their house whilst she lived there.
She took her sexual abuse out on the innocent Charlie, sexually molesting him while eating a tbone and touching him whilst his sister was asleep and telling him not to wake her, which was her way of telling him not to tell anybody about her touches. Charlie tries to forget his molestation, but is reminded of it whilst making out with Sam.
Very good relationship with family members, however became single when her newest boyfriend began abusing her again.
